On Sunday 7th December 2014, over 3,500 people gathered in the beautiful Victoria Park to take part in doitforcharity’s annual Santa Fun Run.

The festive event involved thousands dressed in a Santa Claus outfit and white beard, with everyone in high spirits despite the coldness of the weather. The Santa’s completed the 5k or 10k route at their preferred level; running, jogging or walking!

On Monday morning we were thrilled to see that we had not only made it onto the front pages of two national newspapers; The Independent and The Guardian but also the BBC News website! It was a remarkable event and we are expecting over £1Million was raised! The efforts that all our charities and supporters went to were outstanding; we even had puppies wearing their very own Santa Claus outfits representing Dogs Trust!

The day was a huge success, with added festive touches by The Visual Ministry Choir who sang beautiful Christmas carols and we also had our very own Santa’s Grotto, all contributing to the jolly atmosphere on the day!
