At the beginning of December the workshop in the North Pole was left abandoned as Santa, his elves, reindeers and his many, many St Nick doppelgangers flew over to Victoria Park for our annual Santa Run!
Over 4,000 runners descended on the park in their red suits and white beards and their fantastic efforts helped to raise over £1,000,000 for the charities involved!
Fundraisers supporting over 150 amazing charities joined us for the 5k or 10k challenge and it was a truly festive, inspiring and magical day!
Participants got to meet representatives from their chosen cause before pulling on their costumes and doing their fun warm up with personal trainer, Sylvia, who got the crowds excited, energised and ready to run!
We started the event with a mini run for little legs – with adorable children in their Santa suits taking on a shorter route. A brilliant way to begin the day!
A Santa’s grotto, carol singing choir and Christmassy refreshments really made the event all the more merry too.
After taking on the picturesque route, our worthy runners received their medals and were cheered on as they ran through the finish line, most of them shedding their bushy white beards!
We want to say a huge thank you to everyone who ran on the day and all of our fantastic charities who were involved. It is down to you all that this event was so enjoyable and successful and we hope you loved the day as much as we did!
“We had a fantastic day and all our runners enjoyed every moment of it.” The Anerley Across Charity.
“I had so much fun this morning at the Santa Run organised by Do it for Charity! Me & the girls have managed to raise £400 for Mind.” Anastazja Stanowska, Runner.
“It was amazing to run for The Mayhew Animal Home today at the Do it for Charity run! Met several other animal lovers (and a doggy!)” Alex Perera, Runner.
“All our runners had a great time. I was there running the 10K run and whew! I was exhausted at the end. That Santa suit kept me warmer than I had thought it would.
So far we have raised over £4,000 which is amazing! So proud and thankful to all of our runners for doing an amazing job.” Ecologia Youth Trust.
