On Sunday 4th December 3,000 Santas pulled on their red suits and white beards before hopping on a sleigh to Victoria Park for London’s BIGGEST Santa Run! We were blessed with bright blue skies and, as the sun shone down on a sea of Santas, it really was quite the spectacle!
Our festive day began to the soundtrack of our carol singing Christmas choir who serenaded our Santas as they visited the grotto, collected their red suits and enjoyed some delicious treats and hot drinks! We welcomed an array of wonderfully Christmassy characters and we were thrilled to host our ‘best dressed’ competitions, with the childrens round bringing in Santa’s elves, mini Father Christmas’s and a present! We even had our four legged friends on stage for the dog fancy dress and we were amazed by the little Christmas puddings and Santa paws helpers! A huge well done to all of the entrants and winners.
Before the main event, we had our little Santas completing their 200m run – they had all pulled on their mini Santa suits to take on the course and it was such a joy to see their excitement as they raced through the finish line with the crowds cheering them on!
A warm-up then saw the runners getting energized and eager for the 5k or 10k challenge ahead, there’s nothing quite like seeing 3,000 Santas doing star jumps and dancing on the spot to get you in the mood for a run! The energy and enthusiasm in the park was truly incredible and with everyone’s spirits high and snow blowing in the air – they were off!
As the swarm of Santas made their way through the arches, the path was lined with the flags of our charities – a great reminder of what the event is all about! Over 100 charities were represented on the day with the main beneficiaries of the event being Alzheimer’s Society, Mind, Teenage Cancer Trust, The Royal Marsden Cancer Fund, Kingston Hospital Charity, Brainstrust and Genesis Research Trust with other amazing causes coming down on the day to cheer on their brilliant supporters! This event helps raise over £1 million for the charities involved and it’s evident to see how much this means to them – the runners love seeing their chosen charity there on the day and it always gives them such a huge boost to push through the challenge!
We waited eagerly at the finish line for all of our runners, armed with medals, water and mince pies! They were met with cheers and congratulations as they emerged red faced but jubilant after their 5k or 10k run.
After a chance to catch their breath and enjoy a well deserved drink and treat, our Santas had the opportunity to take some fun and festive snaps in our brand new photo area adorned with some merry props to add that extra Christmassy touch!
It was an unforgettable day and an amazing launch into the festive period! A huge congratulations and thank you to all of our amazing runners and charities who took part in another incredible Santa Run, we are definitely ready for Christmas now and we hope you are too!

Merry Christmas! 🙂
