5 things you need to know about… London’s LARGEST Santa Run!

Whether you are already signed up, or you are currently thinking about it – take a read through our list of the five main things you need to know about this fun-filled day in Victoria Park! 🙂

  1. It’s not a race

One of the great things about this festive run is that it is not a race! You are welcome to walk, run or jingle your way round our 5K or 10K route. Our Santa Run is a celebration of the Christmas period, and all of your amazing achievements you have accomplished whether it be your training or your fundraising. As we all gather together on Sunday 3rd December, we enjoy hours of fun with Santa and friends.

  1. Fancy dress competition

Although you will receive a FREE Santa suit on the day of the event, we do encourage you to get creative and make your own! Just before you set off on your run we will be holding a fancy dress competition for adults, children and, of course, our four-legged friends! We will be on the lookout for some glitter-TASTIC outfits so make sure you get involved – everyone from Christmas puddings to snowmen are invited!

  1. Free kids fun run

This day is perfect for the entire family as just before the main run we will be holding a mini fun run for children eight years and under. Watch Santa’s little helpers jingle their way round the 200 meters course, and to congratulate their special achievement they will receive their very own medal too!

  1. Event Village and photo booth

Santa’s sleigh will be parking up in Victoria Park this December and you can jump on and pose with your friends and family for some festive snaps that you can cherish forever. With a range of props, Christmas cheer and some cheesy grins, this is sure to be a cracker!

5. Hearing your inspiring stories

The greatest part of this day for us is discovering which charity you have decided to fundraise for and why. It is so inspiring to hear your stories and also to remind ourselves how important each and every single charity is and the work that they do.  Over 100 charities are represented on the day with the main beneficiaries of the event being Alzheimer’s Society, Mind, Magic Breakfast, Teenage Cancer Trust, St Joseph Hospice, MS Trust, Independent Age and UK Sepsis Trust – along with so many other amazing causes coming down on the day to cheer on their brilliant supporters! This event helps raise over £1 million for the charities involved and it’s evident to see how much this means to them – the runners love seeing their chosen charity there cheering them on and it always gives them such a huge boost to push through the challenge!
